子供の頃には列車での旅行というのは心躍るものであった。年に一度、夏休みに祖父母の家に
行くときには、何時間も列車に乗ると考えただけでわくわくした。今では長距離列車を見ても、子供のころのように気分が高まることはないが、大きな駅のホームに日本各地に向かうさまざまな列車が並んでいる光景は鮮明に覚えているし、発車の瞬間の独特の高揚感を思い出すこともある。

物事が主語のときは、excitingを使います。
人が主語のときはexcitedを使います。
exciting/excited

また、今回は過去のことをのべているので過去形です。

grandparentsは複数形にします。
複数形の所有格なので'をつけるだけです。
(C)気分が高まることはない
be excitedは「興奮した」という状態をあらわらします。
ここでは「興奮する」という動作をあらわしたいので、
get excited という表現を使います。
否定の文章なので、don't get excitedとなります。

冠詞aが必要です。

ひとつのプラットフォームに電車が並んでいるわけではないですね。
